Large British companies say they will withdraw from projects in the
pan-European Eureka programme to promote collaborative applied research.
According to a survey by the Edinburgh-based consultancy Eurofi, large firms
are abandoning Eureka because the British government now restricts grants
for British participants to companies with fewer than 250 employees.
