You are not the only one befuddled by the ongoing saga of Apple Computer
software updates. IDG Books has called one of its latest opuses the Macworld Mac
OS 7.6 Bible (£33.99/$34.99, ISBN 0 7645 4014 9), although fewer
than 10 per cent of its 700 pages are devoted to version 7.6. The authors
include a whole chapter to explain the different flavours of system 7, but it
would be nice if they had listed which versions of common applications have
problems with which versions.
