There is no evidence that silicone breast implants cause health problems,
says a panel of scientific experts. Four scientists appointed by a US District
Court in Washington DC were asked to advise on a case brought against the
companies Bristol-Myers Squibb, Baxter Healthcare and 3M by women who claim
implants damaged their health. However, Dow Corning, the main manufacturer of
silicone implants, has already agreed to settle cases against it for $3.2
billion.
